Is a fresh morning getting up is the domain of the young?

Do you have back pain when you want to get out of bed in the morning? Maybe you don’t have such a problem yet, but you are afraid that it may happen to you? Ever wonder how important a good sleep position is for your spine? Proper rest during sleep is a priority if you care about health, well-being and life energy. As you probably already guessed, proper sleep position is also very important for the health of your spine. Uncomfortable position causes that the muscles instead of being relaxed tighten excessively and unnecessarily burden the back. Back pain is not only the domain of the elderly, it can be experienced at any age. Sleeping the night in an uncomfortable position, in addition to morning pain, also results in sleeplessness, fatigue and irritability. So how to sleep and which position to avoid to finally breathe and get a good night’s sleep?

Sleeping on your stomach

The least healthy way to sleep is to sleep on your stomach because it puts pressure on your spine. When you sleep on your stomach, your organs are compressed and your lungs have a limited supply of air. Sleeping in this position, your neck is unnaturally twisted up, which causes muscle tension and subsequent pains, so you should not sleep in this position especially if you suffer from problems related to the cervical and lumbar spine. If you think you can’t sleep in a different position, try to reduce your back load by placing a pillow on one side of your pelvis, so you will deceive your spine, which will „think” you are sleeping on your side. Do you wake up at night, your heart beats crazy, you’re sweaty and confused? Research shows that people sleeping on their stomachs more often have erotic dreams, dreams of choking, drowning or meeting UFOs. The reason may be that sleeping on the stomach, we provide the body with much less oxygen, so that the proper functioning of the brain is disturbed and such images are created in it.

„The best positions for your spine are sleeping on your back and right side, but if you’ve always slept differently and feel good about it, you’re sleepy and every morning is the most wonderful part of the day for you, there is no need for you to forcefully change your habits.”

Sleeping on the side

Sleeping on your side is one of the most common sleep positions. Lying on the left side can cause squeezing of internal organs, especially the liver and lungs. Sleeping on the RIGHT SIDE you will allow your spine to relax in its most natural arrangement. Advice: sleep best on your side with slightly bent legs – this allows you to keep lumbar lordosis. Place a cushion between your legs to reduce pressure on your knees and lock your hips before turning. This position minimizes snoring, does not cause reflux and facilitates breathing. Apparently, people sleeping on the left side more often have nightmares, e.g. races, insect attacks, humiliating situations or life-threatening situations. People sleeping on the right side sleep peacefully and pleasantly. They dream of swimming, walking, sightseeing, admiring the landscapes.

Sleeping on your back

Sleeping on your back is probably the best and healthiest position for you, your spine and your body. By sleeping on your back you allow your internal organs to „expand” and thus completely relax. You do not burden them, do not squeeze or stew them. Studies show that people sleeping on their backs have the most realistic dreams, e.g. regarding their daily lives, you no longer have to worry about nightmares. Some people think that lying flat on your back puts pressure on your hips, if you feel this way too, and you would like to test this position, the best solution is to place the pillow under your knees, leaving them slightly bent, reduce pressure and relieve the lumbar spine.

Bottom line…

The best positions for your spine are sleeping on your back and right side, but if you’ve always slept differently and feel good about it, you’re sleepy and every morning is the most wonderful part of the day for you, there is no need for you to forcefully change your habits. However, if sometimes your spine hurts in the morning, you have trouble getting up – try to change your sleep position, and maybe it turns out that after some time this problem will not affect you anymore. 🙂 If you get up tired, it may also arise from the wrong ground on which you sleep. So sleep on a suitable mattress that adapts to your body and ensures high sleep comfort. So lie down in the position of your choice, close your eyes and immerse yourself in a blissful sleep … And do not forget to check what you dreamed! 🙂
